Supporters did not enjoying watching the Champions Cup Final.
Although this afternoon’s Champions Cup Final may not have been the most entertaining spectacle, it must be remembered that the weather conditions were not conducive to running rugby.
Nevertheless, fans were not impressed by the manner in which Saracens and Racing approached the final. Throughout the game both sides kept it tight, with Racing in particular guilty of not wanting to move the ball five yards beyond either side of the ruck.
Indeed, given that the French side were chasing the game and had conceded a number of penalties while in possession at ruck time, they rarely moved the ball wide or attempted to utilise the skills of Juan Imhoff and Joe Rokocoko.
Consequently fans were not impressed by the quality on display.
I’ve found a copy of Racing 92’s attacking strategy
1. Single big ball runner
2. Single big ball runner
3. Single contact

To everyone waking up in NZ, Saracens just won the European Cup by 7 goals to 3 goals – don’t bother watching the highlights #RACvSAR #rugby

Fair play to Saracens but that was about as dull a cup final as you’ll see. Racing so average without Carter. #RACvSAR

European Champions Cup Final; an absolutely unloveable match between two unloveable teams. #RACvSAR

If this game lasted until tomorrow, I still don’t think #Racing would score a try! #RACvSAR #ERCC

Brad Barritt lifting the trophy for Saracens. Surprised he didn’t put it under one arm and take it into contact #ChampionsCupFinal
