Tawera Kerr-Barlow jumped on Sam Whitelock’s face.
In the aftermath of yesterday’s game between England and Ireland, fans immediately began debating the incident that saw Conor Murray forced off the field.
While fans throughout the northern hemisphere argued over whether or not Mike Brown should have been sin binned for stamping on Conor Murray, hours early, Sam Whitelock also suffered an ugly looking eye injury during the Crusaders encounter with the Chiefs.
The incident occurred as Chiefs scrum half, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, attempted to jump over the 73 times capped All Black, but instead made contact with Whitelock’s face.
Although the resulting wound required stiches, Whitelock took his place in the defensive line immediately afterwards, before the referee blew up to allow the medical team on the field.
