Worcester Warriors Signal Their Intent For Next Season With Retainment Of Key Players

The last two seasons have been all about survival for Worcester Warriors. After being promoted to England’s top tier after the culmination of the 2014/2015 season – they have retained their Premiership status rather comfortably during this season and last.

Losing Dean Ryan last summer was hardly ideal in terms of keeping a certain level of consistency within the squad but they have performed well since Gary Gold entered the club back in January.

Worcester have signed many high-profile players such as Ben Te’o, Francois Hougaard and Jackson Willison but unfortunately for supporters of the West Midlands club – having that much talent hasn’t exactly equaled the desired level of success.

Nevertheless, the season is almost finished and Worcester can look forward to next season to finally achieve their ambitions of becoming a top-six club.

To do this, they at least need to keep hold of some of their key players and this week’s announcements have certainly confirmed that.

Alafoti Faosiliva and Tom Heathcote have both signed contract extensions at Sixways.

Worcester have confirmed Faosiliva’s immediate future at the club, although the length of the contract is not revealed.

With regards to Heathcote, the Scot majorly impressed during his debut season but was, unfortunately, missing for a large chunk of the current campaign with a troublesome injury.

He will remain at Sixways and fans will be hoping the 25-year-old can successfully recover from the injury to have a serious impact next season.
