Will Greenwood Picks His Home Nations XV From The Autumn Internationals

The Autumn Internationals are over for the most part except for Saturday’s fixture at the Principality Stadium between Wales and South Africa.

For most players among the ‘home nations’, they have now returned to their clubs and if they are not involved in domestic action this weekend, they will be getting their bodies and minds prepared for crucial back-to-back European fixtures which take place next week.

Some players performed remarkably well throughout the Autumn series for their respective nations while other may have rued their missed opportunities to impress their coaches with the Rugby World Cup in Japan very much on the mind of head coaches around the world.

Nevertheless, the players who performed well have further cemented their status or at least pushed their way into the reckoning for a starting spot for their respective countries and Will Greenwood, writing in his column for The Telegraph, has picked his best XV of the ‘home nations’ from the Autumn Internationals.

  1. Mako Vunipola – England
  2. Ken Owens – Wales
  3. Tadhg Furlong – Ireland
  4. Jonny Gray – Scotland
  5. Joe Launchbury – England
  6. Chris Robshaw – England
  7. Hamish Watson – Scotland
  8. CJ Stander – Ireland
  9. Conor Murray – Ireland
  10. George Ford – England
  11. Elliot Daly – England
  12. Bundee Aki – Ireland
  13. Huw Jones – Scotland
