Wayne Pivac Confirms Talks With George North About Potential Scarlets Move

The George North saga continues.

After the confirmation that North will leave the Northampton Saints at the end of the season to return to Wales, the various supporters of the Welsh regions have been hoping the talented winger will sign for their respective club.

Last week, news emerged that the Cardiff Blues were out of the running as they want to concentrate on signing players in the tight-five positions due to their ageing pack.

This, in addition to the Wayne Pivac’s previous comments that his side isn’t in the market for a wing, meant that two options remaining for North seemed to be Ospreys and the Dragons.

However, Pivac has said today that he has held talks with the Saints man about a potential move back to the club he played for before he departed for the Aviva Premiership.

North left Scarlets in 2013 to spend five seasons at Franklin’s Gardens, this season being his last. You would imagine it would be North No.1 preference but the project Bernard Jackman is building at the Dragons may entice the 25-year-old while the Ospreys would also be an attractive option, despite their poor PRO14 showing this season, Steve Tandy’s side are on the cusp of qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions Cup.
