Bath are into the Anglo-Welsh Cup final after securing a narrow 13-12 victory over the Northampton Saints at The Rec last night.
The game was finely poised at a crucial juncture in the second half with the Saints leading 10-12 after 67 minutes thanks to four penalties from the boot of Stephen Myler. However, the game tipped in Bath’s favour when Saints’ Teimana Harrison received a red card for a headbutt on Nathan Catt with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Josh Lewis kicked the resulting penalty to give Bath a one-point lead which they clung on to for the remainder of the game to secure their passage into the final.
It was a moment of stupidity from Harrison and his actions ultimately cost his side the game.
