In a low scoring game, the Scarlets are 5-9 down against their Welsh rivals, The Ospreys, at Parc y Scarlets.
Although the game has only produced one try thus far, the first half wasn’t without its moments as the exciting Steff Evans was sent off for making contact with an opposition player in the air.
The incident occurred at the end of the first half but just 20 minutes earlier, Evans scored the first try of the game after showing some deft footwork to evade the Ospreys defence after he had received the ball from the back of a scrum.
The ball presentation by the Scarlets during the scrum was sloppy to say the least but Gareth Davies managed to get the ball away to Evans who looked like he was running a diagonal line before producing a powerful step off his left foot to power back inside and get the game’s opening score.

Unfortunately for Evans and his side, he went from hero to zero as he collided with an Ospreys player in the air who took a really nasty fall on his shoulder/neck area.

It goes without saying that the incident wasn’t intentional but it was reckless and clumsy from Evans and by the letter of the law, he was shown a red card and the Scarlets will have to play the rest of the game out with 14-men.
At the time of writing, there is less than 20 minutes to go with the Ospreys leading 9-5 thanks to three penalties from Sam Davies.
