It was a day to forget for Scarlets yesterday as they were completely out-classed by a machine-like Leinster side hell-bent on securing their first European Cup since 2012.
If Leinster manage to win in three weeks time in Bilbao, they will join Toulouse as the only club to have won Europe’s top club rugby competition four times.
Based on Saturday’s evidence, it would take a monumental effort from either Racing 92 or Munster to stop this Leinster juggernaut.
Leinster were absolutely ruthless yesterday and none so more than the crucial try which came just before halftime.
Scarlets were 17-9 down going into the final seconds of the opening 40 minutes and as Wayne Pivac said after the game, that deficit would have been a lot more manageable going into the second half. However, Leinster wanted to kill this game off by halftime and they did son in emphatic fashion as they spread the ball wide to Fergus McFadden who went over for a try which gave Leinster a 24-9 lead going into the break.
In scoring that try McFadden was injured after Steff Evans collided with the winger when attempting to tackle him. Evans slides in with his knees and makes contact with the 31-year-old, a collision which ended his game prematurely.
I think Steff Evans is lucky there, surprised no one on tv is mentioning it

Naughty from steff Evans, should’ve been a penalty that. No attempt to make a tackle #LEIvSCA

Steff Evans needs to see yellow for that. Really cheap shot that’s ended McFadden’s day and no sanction.

So, seeing as how you're so Strong on the Rules of the Game, how much of a Suspension should Steff Evans Receive for his Malicious & late hit on Fergus McFadden after Fergus had grounded the ball?!!!

Here is the incident below, do you think Evans should have been penalised?
