November 15 is looming large. On this date we will know which country between Ireland, South Africa and France will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
All three nations have made their bid presentations to World Rugby, the game’s governing body will make an official recommendation at the end of this month in terms of their opinion on who should host the tournament and then it’s up to the democratic process of various rugby unions around the world to decide on who will host the game’s flagship tournament.
All three countries can boast their devine right to host the tournament. Ireland will argue an unrivalled atmosphere and ability to grow the game in North America, France have the infrastructure and experience of hosting the tournament while South Africa will argue that their tournament will be most affordable for supporters and will also highlight the historic moment when they hosted the tournament in 1995 which united a nation.
South Africa have heavily promoted their bid and the latest example of which comes from a promo video released by the Springboks today.
The video displays the incredible landscape of the vast country in addition to highlighting how rugby is the number one sport in South Africa, something which Ireland and France cannot claim.
We must say, it’s an incredible promo and it’s clear to see that they are desperate to host the tournament in 2023.
Check it out for yourself.
