At halftime, Leinster currently trail Toulouse 13-21 at the Stade Ernest Wallon and it has been a breathtaking opening 40 minutes in sun-kissed conditions in the south of France.
Toulouse raced into a 14-0 lead thanks to a try from Maxime Medard and three penalties from the boot of Thomas Ramos.
Leinster, once they got a sustained period of possession were able to hit back through Sean O’Brien, who came on for Josh van der Flier, after Jack Conan made a superb break and offloaded to the Tullow Tank who crashed over.
Penalties from the boot of Johnny Sexton brought it back to a one-point game in the 38th minute but Sofiane Guitoune produced some individual magic to give Toulouse an eight-point lead at the break.
Guitoune received an excellent offload and his burst of pace resulted in just Jordan Larmour separating him from the try line. Guitoune then produced a brilliant step to leave Larmour rooted to the spot as Guitoune crashed over for Toulouse’s second try of the match.
