Wales against Scotland has been talked up as being one of the potential games of this year’s Championship and the opening 15 minutes at the Principality Stadium has certainly lived up to that billing.
Scotland made serious inroads into the Welsh 22 in the opening minutes thanks to an excellent break from Jonny Gray but once the Scots coughed up that period of possession, it’s been all Wales as Warren Gatland’s side look to run riot in front of their home supporters.
First, Scotland scrum-half Ali Price threw a long floating pass which was picked off by Gareth Davies, the Welsh scrum-half ran the whole length of the pitch to score the first try of the game.

It got worse for Scotland soon after that when another Welsh attack led to a huge overlap for the hosts, the ball was spread wide to Leigh Halfpenny who put the head down and got Wales’ second try to give them a 14-0 lead after 15 minutes.
The game calmed down after that with both sides making a number of unforced errors but Gregor Townsend’s side were unable to cut the deficit as they went into the halftime break 14-0 down.
