The Chiefs recorded a 41-28 victory over the Bulls yesterday thanks to a great double try-scoring effort from towering All Black, Brodie Retallick.
In total, the Waikato based side touched down for six tries in what was a powerful performance from the hosts but they were made work as they pulled away from the South African side in the second half.
11 points from the boot of Damian McKenzie helped the Chiefs along their way but one of the standout moments from the game was an incredible solo effort from Retallick.
The 26-year-old picked up the ball about 30 metres out from the Bulls line and the big man showed great acceleration before selling a dummy to one of the Bulls’ defenders. Retallick still had work to do and he used his considerable strength to fend off the would-be tacklers and stretch for the line.
Next up for the Chiefs is a trip to Japan to face the Sunwolves next week.
