It will an emotional afternoon in Galway on Saturday as John Muldoon makes his last ever appearance for Connacht.
The Connacht legend will earn his 327th appearance for the men from the west and after 15 years of loyal service, the 35-year-old from Portumna will hang up his boots for the final time.
Muldoon will head to Bristol next season to link up with former Connacht coach Pat Lam as the club’s new defence coach and his loss will certainly be felt after such a distinguished career in green.
Connacht face off against Leinster in their final PRO14 fixture of the season and the club have released a spine-tingling emotional tribute video as the people of Connacht get to say thank you.
“It’s my final time to throw on the green jersey and I just want to do the lads justice before I bow out at the Sportsground. It has actually crept up on me and I have had mixed emotions this week when I have gone into training with the lads,” Muldoon said
“It’s been bittersweet getting ready for this game against Leinster. It has built up nicely towards a game against a phenomenal team and they were outstanding in their Champions Cup win over Scarlets again last weekend. It certainly won’t be easy to finish my career against them, but I am looking forward to getting stuck into my last game for my province”, Muldoon added.
