Warren Gatland Makes Some Huge Calls With Lions Squad For Second Test

With a number of players underperforming during the first Test at Eden Park and a few putting their hands up during the Hurricanes clash in Wellington, there was always going to be some tough decisions for Warren Gatland when he named his squad for the second Test against the All Blacks.

There have been a number of surprising calls as Alun Wyn Jones keeps his place with Mato Itoje coming in to start alongside him. Peter O’Mahony is out of the squad completely with Sam Warburton taking up the role of blindside flanker.

Gatland has decided to go with the 10-12 axis of Jonathan Sexton and Owen Farrell with Ben Te’o dropping to the bench. The back-three is as you were but Courtney Lawes and Jack Nowell are among the substitutes.
