TG4’s Live PRO14 Coverage Is Excellent News For Connacht Fans

TG4, this morning, launched their coverage of the upcoming 2018/19 Guinness PRO14 season at the home of Connacht Rugby and supporters of Irish provinces will be delighted that there is plenty of free-to-air live games being shown by the Irish language broadcaster.

The broadcaster has confirmed that they will show 28 live games as well as deferred coverage of nine interprovincial fixtures. A weekend highlights show will also be shown for every round of action throughout the season.

Máire Treasa Ní Dhubhghaill returns as the anchor for the programmes and she will be joined by an expert panel of analysts including former Connacht prop Rónán Loughney, Marcus Horan, Eoghan Ó Neachtain, Éamonn Molloy and Eimear Considine.

Coverage of the Guinness PRO14 Rugby 2018/19 season kicks off this weekend with two live matches on TG4. Leinster take on the Cardiff Blues in Cardiff Arms Park on Friday 31 August, with a 7:35pm kick off. The following day, Saturday 1 September, Connacht play host to the Glasgow Warriors at 3:00pm.

In a further boost to Connacht supporters, all 11 of Connacht’s home games will be broadcast live on TG4, this includes the interprovincial clashes. All of Connacht’s matches against Welsh opposition will be live and exclusive, while Leinster and Munster’s matches against Welsh opposition will also be shown live.

Speaking today in the Sportsground in Galway at the launch of their coverage for the season, TG4’s Head of Sport, Rónán Ó Coisdealbha said:

“TG4 are very proud of our association with this tournament which began in 2001. We look forward to bringing comprehensive coverage of the Guinness PRO14 to viewers and rugby fans all over Ireland on free to air television in the coming months with 28 live matches as well as highlights and deferred coverage each week.

“We are very pleased to have agreed a television rights deal with the PRO14 for the next three seasons and we look forward to seeing some great rugby matches over the coming months.”
