Joe Schmidt has this afternoon announced his squad for Saturday’s final Test match against the USA and he has made wholesale changes to the team which beat the All Blacks.
In total, only one player who started against the All Blacks will start against the USA and that’s Garry Ringrose.
He will partner Stuart McCloskey in a new look midfield and they will have Joey Carbery and John Cooney inside them who start at out-half and scrum-half, respectively.
In the back-three, Darren Sweetnam and Andrew Conway take up the wing positions while Will Addison starts at fullback.
Up front, Dave Kilcoyne is joined by his Munster colleague Niall Scannell with Connacht’s Finlay Bealham starting at tighthead.
Tadhg Beirne and Iain Henderson make up a physical looking second-row combination while Rhys Ruddock, Jordi Murphy and Jack Conan make up the back-row.
Sam Arnold is the 23rd man and he looks set to make his Ireland debut from the bench.
