Referees Announced For Irish Provinces’ Crucial European Cup Fixtures

The EPCR have confirmed the referees for the final two rounds of this season’s Champions Cup group stages which will take place in January.

Munster, Leinster and Ulster all face into crucial fixtures which will determine whether they qualify for the knockout stages of this year’s competition.

Munster’s recent loss to Castres means they are in must-win territory when they travel to Kingsholm to take on Gloucester on Friday 11th January. French referee Romain Poite will be the man in the middle for that match while Jerome Garces will be officiating at Thomond Park when the southern province welcome the Exeter Chiefs a week later.

A top of the pool clash between Leinster and Toulouse at the RDS is the tie of round five and English referee Luke Pearce has been appointed by EPCR for that eagerly-anticipated match. Leo Cullen’s side travel to Wasps a week later where Mike Adamson will be in charge.

For Ulster, they welcome Racing 92 to the Kingspan Stadium and they will be looking to avenge their defeat to the Parisians at the U Arena earlier in the competition. Back to back wins over Scarlets have put Ulster right back in contention for the knockout stages and they will have to deal with Matthew Carley for that clash on Saturday 12 January. Finally, Ulster’s final game away to Leicester at Welford Road sees Frenchman Alexandre Ruiz as the man with the whistle.
