The Referees For Crucial Champions Cup Semi-Finals Have Been Announced

We’re just 10 days away from this season’s highly anticipated Champions Cup semi-finals.

First up is Leinster and Scarlets in a repeat of last season’s Guinness PRO12 semi-final. Both sides will be confident that they can secure passage into the decider in Bilbao. Wayne Pivac’s side defeated Leinster in Dublin last year on their way to their PRO12 triumph and they will likely need to improve on that performance based on the form shown by the eastern province this season.

The referee for that clash will be Romain Poite.

On the Sunday, Racing 92 and Munster will fight it out in their third clash of the season in Bordeaux. Munster will go into that clash on the back of a two-week stint in South Africa which has seen them beat the Southern Kings and where they will face the Cheetahs this weekend in Bloemfontein.

The Parisian side are second in the Top 14 standings and with one win a piece from their meetings so far this season, it’s incredibly tough to determine the outcome of this match.

The man in the middle in Bordeaux will be JP Doyle.

Meanwhile, the referees for the Challenge Cup semi-finals have also been announced. Pascal Gauzère will referee Gloucester’s clash with the Newcastle Falcons while John Lacey will officiate the Cardiff Blues’ clash with Pau.
