Paddy Jackson has been linked with a move away from his current club Perpignan should they be relegated from the Top 14 at the end of the season.
Jackson has been plying his trade with Perpignan since his contract was revoked by the IRFU and Ulster Rugby as a result of the fallout from the Belfast rape trial in which he and former teammate Stuart Olding were found not guilty on all charges.
After 10 games of the current Top 14 season, Perpignan currently lie at the bottom of the table with no wins and just four points to their name.
They are nine points behind second from bottom Agen and it looks likely that the famous club could be relegated to the Pro D2 after achieving promotion last season.
French newspaper, Le Progres, is reporting that Lyon are looking at Jackson as a potential replacement for Lionel Beauxis who is set to leave the club at the end of the season for Oyannax.
Jackson is currently contracted to Perpignan until 2020. However, it is understood that he has a release clause in his contract should the club suffer relegation to France’s second-tier.
According to the report, he was spotted in Lyon last week.
