Paddy Jackson has been linked to a move in England next season according to a report in the French publication, Le Progres.
After 11 games of the current Top 14 season, Perpignan currently lie at the bottom of the table with no wins and just four points to their name.
Their most recent loss came to Connacht at the Sportsground in the Challenge Cup – the French club face the westerners again tonight (KO 7 pm) as they search for their first win of the season.
Le Progres reported last month that Jackson has a release clause in his contract which would see him available to other clubs if Perpignan suffers relegation from the Top 14.
The club who were linked to his signature was Lyon who will be without the services of Lionel Beauxis who is set to join Oyannax next season.
However, the same publication has now reported that Jackson will join London Irish who are currently leading the way in the Championship and who would be favourites to achieve promotion back to the Premiership.
London Irish were reported to be interested in Jackson’s signature at the end of last season when he was looking for a club after having his contract revoked by the IRFU and Ulster Rugby but the move failed to materialise.
Declan Kidney, who holds the role as ‘Technical Director’ at the club, was Ireland head coach when he gave Jackson his first senior international cap during the 2013 Six Nations. Les Kiss, who is currently the head coach of London Irish, would have coached Jackson during his time in Ulster.
