The Lions Have Named Their Side For Super Rugby Final Against The Crusaders

The Lions have named their matchday 23 to take on the Crusaders this Saturday at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.

Johan Ackermann has had the luxury of naming an unchanged side over the last number of weeks and that continues as he resists the temptation to make any changes to the side that overcame the Sharks and the Hurricanes in the last two rounds.

It promises to be an excellent final with the two teams with the most impressive records in this year’s Super Rugby competition set to battle it out in the showpiece event.

The Lions have certainly put their supporters through it all over the last two knockout fixtures, their win over the Sharks was a lot tougher than expected and they looked down and out in the semi-final when just before half-time, they were 22-3 down against the reigning champions, the Hurricanes.

However, the South African outfit produced a stunning second half display to run out comprehensive winners.

The Crusaders side will be named later this afternoon and you wonder if they will struggle with the high-altitude conditions like the Hurricanes did in Johannesburg last weekend.

The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
