Key Duo Could Return For Leinster and Munster With Champions Cup Looming

Munster and Leinster are both entering the biggest weeks of their season with Champions Cup semi-finals taking place this weekend.

Leinster will have the opportunity to be the first team to qualify for the Champions Cup final when they take on Scarlets at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday. Munster will hope to follow them a day later when they take on Racing 92 in Bordeaux.

Both games are set to be rip-roaring affairs especially when you consider Scarlets and Racing 92 both fielded weakened sides at the weekend in the Guinness PRO14 and Top 14, respectively.

In a boost to both Leinster and Munster, both clubs could welcome back two crucial players ahead of their respective ties.

In Leinster, Robbie Henshaw could feature against Scarlets after being unavailable since the shoulder injury he picked up against Italy in the Six Nations. Henshaw took part in the captain’s run on Friday and also warmed up on Saturday before the eastern province’s loss to Bennetton.

Munster, who have just arrived back from their successful tour of South Africa, could welcome back electric winger Keith Earls in what would be a huge boost to the club.

Earls picked up a knee injury in Ireland’s Grand Slam victory over England at Twickenham but according to a report in the Irish Independent, the Limerick man is ahead of schedule in terms of his recovery and could feature for the southern province in their clash with Racing 92 in Bordeaux on Sunday.

Leinster (Monday) and Munster (Tuesday) will both provide injury updates this week so we should get a clearer picture soon.
