Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has provided an injury update on Cian Healy and Conor Murray.
Murray suffered a knock when he attempted to tackle Jonny May in the first half of Ireland’s 57-15 defeat to England at Twickenham this afternoon.
The scrum-half was removed for a HIA, which he passed, but returned for the final minutes of the first half which wasn’t the intention according to Schmidt.
The head coach said that a “communication error” led to Murray returning to the field. He was removed permanently at halftime as he was replaced by Leinster’s Luke McGrath.
With regards to Healy, the powerful loosehead suffered an ankle injury and Schmidt confirmed that it is sprained but that an x-ray confirmed there is no break.
A further update on Healy’s timeframe of recovery will likely be issued next week.
