When Ireland’s November schedule was announced it was clear that the clash with Fiji, sandwiched between matches against South Africa and Argentina would be the one where Joe Schmidt would likely offer opportunities to fringe players of the squad.
That is exactly what has transpired as Schmidt has made 13 changes in total to the team which secured a record-breaking 35 point margin of victory over the Springboks on Saturday for the match against Fiji.
Munster’s Chris Farrell will make his debut for Ireland this weekend as he starts in the centre alongside Stuart McCloskey in what is a very powerful and physical midfield partnership. While Darren Sweetnam and Rob Herring will both make their first starts for their country.
Andrew Conway and Devin Toner are the only two players to be retained from last week.
