Joe Marler Apologises For Harlequins’ Awful Display Against London Irish

Harlequins’ season went from bad to worse yesterday after they fell to a 5-35 defeat to London Irish at the Twickenham Stoop.

John Kingston’s needed to win that game to keep their slim chances of Champions Cup qualification alive but they will now have to plan for Challenge Cup rugby next season.

It’s been a season to forget for Quins, in addition to their poor domestic form, they also limped out of Europe without much of a fight and when you consider the talent that is available to this side, one wonders what is going wrong at the club.

That was just London Irish’s third win of the season and Joe Marler tweeted his apologies after the game where he said that the supporters deserve better and that he and the squad are sorry for the display.

Chris Robshaw also tweeted his apologies on social media.

Quins face into two away games against Gloucester and Worcester Warriors before they finish their season at home to the Exeter Chiefs.
