It’s all going wrong for the Lions in the Super Rugby final at Ellis Park, Johannesburg. The Crusaders stormed out of the blocks to go 12-0 up after just as many minutes played.
The Lions steadied the ship somewhat after that and got their first points of the game to leave the score 12-3 to the visitors after 30 minutes played.
The Lions secured a memorable comeback against New Zealand opposition last week at the same venue against the Hurricanes and they will have to do it the hard way again if they wish to lift the trophy at the end of the game.
With just eight minutes on the clock, Seta Tamanivalu sprinted away to score the opening try of the game after the Lions lost possession at the ruck. But it was a huge hit on Elton Jantjies which led to sloppy ball retention at the ruck in the build up to the try.

The try was converted and just moments later things went from bad to worse for the Lions as Jack Goodhue went over for the Christchurch outfit but Richie Mo’unga failed to convert.
The Lions will hope the altitude will affect the Crusaders in the second half as they look to claw themselves back into this game.
