The Ireland squad are back at their snow-covered Carton House base this week as preparations ramp up for the visit of Scotland to the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
Joe Schmidt will have to plan without Chris Farrell, who suffered an ACL injury last week in training which has ruled him out of the remainder of the season.
Garry Ringrose is likely to come into the team after getting vital minutes under his belt for Leinster in their PRO14 clash with the Southern Kings at the RDS last weekend.
Other injury concerns for Ireland are the fitness of both Tadhg Furlong and Iain Henderson. Both players are suffering from hamstring injuries but there is good news on this front as Ireland have confirmed that both players will train fully this week.
In addition to this, Leinster’s Barry Daly and Ulster’s Rob Herring have joined up with the squad while Ultan Dillane will join the group on Wednesday after he was involved in the Connacht side which fell to a narrow defeat to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein at the weekend.
In a relief to Munster supporters, Niall Scannell and Andrew Conway are expected to train with Ireland next week.
