Top 14 outfit Toulon will be parting ways with France captain Guilhem Guirado at the end of the season, the club’s president Mourad Boudjellal said on Friday.
While Stade Français have been chasing the 32-year-old hooker it appears his next stop may be Top 14 rivals Montpellier.
Boudjellal said Guirado “needs a change of scenery and wanted to get closer to Perpignan”.
The 32-year-old joined Toulon in 2014 after 12 seasons at Perpignan and also became France captain in 2015 when Guy Noves took over as France coach.
“I have met a great deal of people in rugby and Guirado is one of those really, really good people. A wonderful player and a wonderful human being, a great guy,” said Boudjellal.
