England face into a three-Test series against the Springboks to get their 2019 World Cup preparations back on track.
Eddie Jones’ side took a huge confidence blow from the fifth-place finish in this year’s Six Nations which yielded just two victories against Italy and Wales.
There are some injuries that Jones has had to deal with and he named a 34-man squad last week which included Danny Cipriani and he also called up Marland Yarde and Henry Trinder for this week’s training camp in Brighton.
With the tour just around the corner, everyone is having their say about who England should select for the first Test against the Boks and Will Greenwood has named his XV to take on Rassie Erasmus’ side.
Will Greenwood’s England XV for the first Test:
15. Elliot Daly
14. Denny Solomona
13. Henry Slade
12. Owen Farrell (c)
11. Jonny May
10. Danny Cipriani
9. Dan Robson
1. Mako Vunipola
2. Jamie George
3. Harry Williams
4. Joe Launchbury
5. Maro Itoje
6. Jack Willis
7. Tom Curry
8. Billy Vunipola
On Cipriani’s inclusion, Greenwood told Sky Sports, “I’d stick him in at No 10 in the very first Test, he’s on fire at the moment,” said Greenwood.
“You can’t leave it until it is 2-0, he has got to start a Test match that absolutely matters in terms of the series.”
What do you make of Greenwood’s selection?
