There are just five rounds left in the regular Aviva Premiership season and things are hotting up as the finish line is in sight for playoff and Champions Cup qualification.
Many sides welcome back their international stars as they are desperate to pick up some crucial points this weekend which just four games remaining after the upcoming action.
Here was take a look at each fixture and take a punt on who would be safe to put your money on this weekend, with leovegas.com.
Bath v Exeter Chiefs
Bath welcome back Taulupe Faletau and Jonathan Joseph into their starting XV as they look to gain ground on the sides above them. Todd Blackadder’s side are just one point outside the Champions Cup positions and five points behind fourth-place, which is currently occupied by the Newcastle Falcons.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, welcome back prop Tomas Francis and back-row forwards Don Armand and Sam Simmonds to the side.
The Chiefs are coming off the back of successive wins over Saracens and the Northampton Saints so we think the league leaders will continue their charge to secure top spot.
London Irish v Gloucester
London Irish are now under the tutelage of Declan Kidney and Les Kiss but it’s probably a case of too little too late to keep the club up this season. The aim for Kidney and Kiss is to generate some positivity around the club and plan for an immediate return to the Premiership.
They welcome Gloucester to the Madejski Stadium who are on a poor run of form and it wouldn’t be outside the realms of possibility to see London Irish pull off an unexpected win. We will go for Irish by less than seven points.
Sale Sharks v Worcester Warriors
Sale are among many teams in the middle of the table who can still reach the Champions Cup playoff spots so they still have plenty to play for. Their form has been mixed but we think they will have enough to beat the Warriors at home at the AJ Bell Stadium as they welcome back AJ MacGinty, James O’Connor and Tom Curry.
Saracens v Harlequins
Both clubs welcome back a whole load of international players in the form of Maro Itoje, Jamie George and Mako Vunipola for Saracens while Quins bring back in Danny Care, Chris Robshaw, Mike Brown, Kyle Sinckler and Joe Marler.
Both teams look evenly matched on paper but we think home advantage will nudge Saracens to victory in what should be an epic encounter at the London Stadium.
Newcastle Falcons v Northampton Saints
The Falcons’ meteoric rise should continue for ‘The Big One’ which is being held at the 52,000 capacity St. James’ Park, home of Premier League football outfit Newcastle United.
Newcastle are one of the in-form teams in the league at the moment and they should continue their excellent season by winning at home in front of a record crowd.
Leicester Tigers v Wasps
Finally, Sunday’s fixture sees the Tigers host Wasps at Welford Road in what is arguably the match of the weekend. The Tigers welcome back George Ford, Dan Cole and Jonny May to their side while James Haskell, Elliot Daly and Joe Launchbury return for Wasps.
Both teams are in excellent form right now and with nothing separating the sides, we will go for home advantage to give the Tigers the edge.
Bet of the weekend:
If you want to almost guarantee yourself a return, then it wouldn’t be a bad shout to back Sale Sharks, Newcastle Falcons and Saracens all to win. A £10 bet will see a return of £16.41.
