Exeter Chiefs Release New European Jersey And It’s Very, Very Pink

This has certainly divided opinion.Β

July is generally a quiet month for northern hemisphere rugby, there are no international Test fixtures (discounting the third Test between the Lions and the All Blacks) and players are only beginning their preseason preparations for the upcoming season which begins at the beginning of September.

However, with that, we get a lot of transfer news and perhaps more excitingly, the announcement and revealment of new kits from various clubs and national sides throughout Europe. We have already seen Tier One Test nations, Italy and Scotland, reveal new jerseys in addition to some big clubs like Munster and Racing 92.

Well, now it’s the turn of the Premiership champions, Exeter Chiefs. Rob Baxter’s side have released their new home and European jerseys which they will wear this season as they look to win back-to-back Premiership titles in addition to reaching the knockout stages of the Champions Cup.

For their Champions Cup fixtures, Jack Nowell and the rest of the Chiefs squad will certainly stand out in their bright pink European kit. It’s certainly a striking design but we’re not sure what to make of it.

Perhaps we will need to see it in person before making a final judgement but it is certainly a bold move from the manufacturer, Samurai Sports. The Chiefs home jersey, on the other hand, is a lot more traditional.

Let us know what you make of these two new kits in the comments section.Β
