Elliot Daly And Matt Mullan’s Autumn In Doubt But There Is Better News For Piers Francis

This weekend’s last round of Premiership action before the international break has seen a number of players pick up injuries which will be a concern for Eddie Jones.

Wasps’ victory over the Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens yesterday proved to be worrying viewing for Jones who saw Elliot Daly, Matt Mullan and Piers Francis all pick up knocks.

Daly picked up a knock to his right knee in the first half and he failed to return for the second 40. It has been confirmed by the RFU today that Daly will not travel with the England squad to a training camp in Portugal this week but will undergo a scan instead to determine the extent of the damage.

Matt Mullan will also not travel due to the elbow injury he picked up in the same fixture.

Mullan, like Daly, will remain with Wasps this week to undergo a scan.

In better news, Francis, who left the game due to an ankle knock, will still travel to Portugal with the squad.

England get their Autumn campaign underway with a clash against Argentina at Twickenham on November 11.
