Quade Cooper’s current journey with Brisbane City has come to an end as his side fell to a 13-10 defeat to the Canberra Vikings.
The result means that the Canberra Vikings face a trip to Fiji to take on Drua in the semi-final of the competition.
It was a mixed bag for Cooper who scored one of his side’s tries from a quick-tap penalty but his accuracy from the boot proved costly as he missed two conversions and a penalty during the game.
Cooper’s off-the-cuff play and ingenuity was evident, however, no more than in the 67th minute when Cooper fielded a clearance kick from Canberra.
Due to the wet and muddy conditions, the 30-year-old was in danger of sliding into touch when he collected the ball but he left it behind before sliding out of bounds. He then picked the ball back up and produced a back of the hand offload to ease the pressure.
