At half-time in Sandy Park, the Exeter Chiefs lead Munster 10-3.
It’s been an absolute arm-wrestle on the south coast as the strong wind has led to both teams playing the entirety of the game in the tight exchanges.
Gareth Steenson got the Chiefs off the mark before Munster responded through a penalty in front of the posts through Joey Carbery.
With half-time approaching, the Chiefs finally struck a blow when Luke Cowan-Dickie powered over from close range.
Steenson nailed the resulting conversion but Andrew Conway clattered into him on the attempted charge down.
Jerome Garces said initially that it was accidental but we have seen referees take a different stance on this issue but the French referee stuck to his initial judgement and let Conway off despite the outrage of the home crowd.
