Rob Kearney is now a doubt for Ireland’s clash with Argentina on the tenth of November after not being included in the squad for Saturday’s game with Italy.
Kearney suffered a shoulder injury during Leinster’s routine win over Benetton and was replaced just after half-time by Conor O’Brien. Joe Schmidt will be hoping that Kearney can recover in time for the Argentina game in the Aviva Stadium next week.
For the upcoming clash with Italy, Ireland are also without Rory Best, Jonathan Sexton and Peter O’Mahony, who have remained at home but will be involved in preparations next week ahead of the clash with Los Pumas.
A 26-man squad has travelled to Soldier Field Park in Chicago, the scene of Ireland’s history-making win over the All-Blacks in 2016. The squad includes potential debutants in Leinster’s Ross Byrne and also former England under-2o international Will Addison.
Eir Sport have announced that they will live stream Ireland v Italy on YouTube, meaning fans will be able to access the match for free while the remaining games of the November Series will be broadcast by RTÉ and Channel 4 with the latter having commentary from former RTE Head of Sport, Ryle Nugent.
