Australia scored seven tries as they ran riot in the Oita Bank Dome to rout Uruguay 45-10 in their Pool D clash on Saturday.
Uruguay were coming off the back of a famous victory over Fiji in their opening pool game, but were decisively beaten by Australia who were looking to get back to winning ways after defeat to Wales.
Teenage wing Jordan Petaia was among the scorers with a try on his debut, while Tevita Kuridrani and Dane Haylett-Petty each grabbed a brace in the convincing win.
