Watch: Stewart Moore Scores Amazing Individual Try For Ireland U20s

It wasn’t to be for Ireland U20s this afternoon in Santa Fe as the Junior Wallabies turned the screw in the final 20 minutes to run out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 45-17.

The key moment of the game came on 15 minutes when Ryan Baird was given a red card following a neck-high tackle meaning Ireland had to play the majority of the game with 14 players.

However, they responded brilliantly to going 10-0 down following the sending off by dominating the Australians for 45 minutes.

Unfortunately, though, their period of sustained pressure couple with being a man down led to tired legs int he closing stages as Australia ran over three tries in five minutes followed by two more in the closing stages to seal the win.

It may have been defeat for Ireland but they can hold their heads high following a simply brilliant performance that in no way reflected the scoreline.

Their best moment of the game came midway through the second half when Stewart Moore, who was making just his second appearance at this level, showed everyone why he is so highly rated at Ulster with a try fit for any occasion.

Ireland won a scrum in the centre of the park before Craig Casey passed to Moore who proceeded to palm off the first challenge before feigning a pass and breaking three more tackles before charging over the Australian try-line.

Props must also go to Nick frost who defied all the logic of a lock with a beautiful 60-metre run and try to firmly put the nail in Ireland’s coffin on the day.
