For the second time this season, Thomond Park is sold out two weeks in advance, with 26,267 expected to be in attendance for Munster’s Champions Cup round 6 fixture with Exeter.
Pool 2 of the Champions Cup has proven to be the tightest in the competition as all four teams have realistic hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals with two games left to play.
The Munster men currently top the group and will travel to Kingsholm on Friday night to take on Gloucester in round 5 where a win will give them some much-needed breathing space following a tense one-point defeat to Castres in the previous round.
Munster Rugby confirmed today that Thomond Park is indeed sold out for the clash.
Demand for tickets the Pool 2 clash comes two days after it was confirmed that Leinster’s pivotal fixture with Toulouse at the RDS this weekend was also sold out well in advance.
With both Toulouse and Leinster dominating Pool 1, the winner of this weekend’s game will go into the final weekend in command.
A full capacity Thomond Park in two weeks will mark the fourth time this season that the stadium has been at full capacity with two of those games being played at Musgrave Park.
The Round 6 game between Munster and Exeter will have a 5.30pm kick-off time and is being televised live on BT Sport.
