Finn Russell Cross Field Kick The Highlight In Strong Scotland Win

Scotland looked lacklustre against Ireland, to say the least. None more so than their mercurial out-half Finn Russell who failed to exploit what was seen as an inexperienced Irish backfield.

Gregor Townsend’s men bounced back in style, however, earlier today with a 34-0 win over Samoa to get their World Cup campaign up and running. The win piles a massive amount of pressure onto Joe Schmidt’s men now following their shock defeat to Japan on Saturday.

Sean Maitland’s opening try was the standout moment of the game. Maitland, who fluffed a golden opportunity towards the game’s end, latched onto the end of a pin-point crossfield kick from Russell who showed the supporters in Japan just why he’s so highly rated.
