We are just one day away from ‘Super Saturday’ when the winner of the Guinness Six Nations 2019 will be decided. All eyes will be on Cardiff in the second game where Wales take on Ireland with the Grand Slam in their sight.
Ahead of the 2.45pm kick-off, we asked you to choose your combined XV from the named starting lineups and the results are in.
Liam Williams is the overwhelming choice at full-back, with Rob Kearney missing out while Keith Earls scrapes in ahead of George North by the narrowest of margins. Earls is joined by Stockdale on the other wing.
It’s a mixed centre partnership with Jonathan Davies preferred to Garry Ringrose while Bundee Aki wears the 12 jersey. As expected, Johnny Sexton and Conor Murray are chosen as the half-back partnership.
Cian Healy is selected as the loosehead prop while Rory Best fails to make the team on the occasion of his final Six Nations appearance with Ken Owens preferred. The duo are joined by Tadhg Furlong in the front-row.
Tadhg Beirne is set to make his Six Nations debut this weekend and is highly respected in the Welsh rugby circles following his time at Scarlets. Given that, it’s no surprise to see him preferred to Adam Beard in the second-row. Fans were very divided over who should join him but at the time of writing, Alun Wyn Jones nicks in ahead of James Ryan with 51 percent of the vote.
Ireland dominate the back-row with Munster duo, Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander joined by Justin Tipuric who is given the nod ahead of Sean O’Brien.
