Jack Nowell Likely To Miss Munster Clash With Hamstring Injury

Jack Nowell will likely be ruled out of Exeter Chief’s Heineken Champions Cup clashes with Castres and Munster as he recovers from a hamstring injury picked up while on international duty.

The winger missed England’s final November Test match against Australia after sustaining the injury in training and was replaced by Joe Cokanasiga.

He featured in their previous three encounters against South Africa, New Zealand and Japan.

The news will certainly come as a major blow for Exeter who must now face into a crucial period without the 25-year-old, including their crunch clash against Saracens on December 22.

“Jack’s got a pretty significant hamstring tear,” director of rugby Rob Baxter told the Exeter website.

“Ironically, he should be back in time to fight for a place in the Six Nations.”

The Chiefs are in Premiership action on Friday evening when they travel to face Harlequins.
