Ireland take on Wales in their final World Cup warm-up match at the Aviva Stadium today with both teams looking to impress before boarding the plane to Japan.

While it is a warm-up game, there is much at stake for both sides. Having endured a mixed season so far, Warren Gatland will be hoping his side can gain momentum from a win before their World Cup opener against Georgia in two week’s time.

Meanwhile, it is an opportunity for Ireland to steady the ship following their trouncing to England last month while their win against Wales last week was not convincing. With a win in his final home game, Joe Schmidt’s men can go top of the rugby world rankings heading to Japan.

With that in mind, both head coaches named strong teams for the Dublin encounter. Earlier, we asked you to vote for which players you would choose for a combined XV and here are the results.

The team is made up of nine Irish players while six are from the men in red.

Leigh Halfpenny is preferred to Rob Kearney at full-back and he is joined in a potent backline by George North and Keith Earls. Meanwhile, Robbie Henshaw loses out at centre to Jonathan Davies who is partnered by Bundee Aki.

Johnny Sexton and Conor Murray are the overwhelming choices in the half-backs while it is an all-Irish front row with Tadhg Furlong even receiving 100 percent of his vote.

In the second row, James Ryan is the favourite over Jake Bell and he is partnered by Alun Wyn Jones who was the popular choice over Jean Kleyn.

Wales dominate the back row with CJ Stander chosen alongside Justin Tipuric as the flanker while the closest vote is at number 8 where Ross Moriarty edges out Jack Conan with 52 percent of the vote.
