Ireland travel to BT Murrayfield today to take on Scotland in the second round of the Guinness Six Nations (kick-off at 2.15pm).
Following last week’s comprehensive loss to England, Joe Schmidt’s side need a win to keep their Championship hopes alive. Meanwhile, Scotland go into the game on the back of a bonus-point win over Italy.
During their last encounter in Murrayfield, Scotland punished Ireland for uncharacteristic mistakes, eventually winning out on a scoreline of 27-22 thanks to a brace of tries from Stuart Hogg and one from Alex Dunbar.
Ireland exacted revenge in the Aviva Stadium last year with a 20-point win. Rob Kearney was man-of-the-match on that day and the Leinster man returns to the starting line-up this week in the absence of the injured Robbie Henshaw.
The battle of the full-backs will be just one of a number of intriguing encounters and this week, we gave you the opportunity to decide which team had the better players in each position.
Ireland dominate the team with 10 players selected. Hogg and Huw Jones are the Scottish backs to feature with Bundee Aki, Jacob Stockdale, and the half-back partnership of Johnny Sexton and Conor Murray, overwhelmingly preferred to their Scottish counterparts.
In the front row, Rory Best misses out for the second week running with Stuart McAnally chosen alongside Cian Healy and Tadhg Furlong.
It is a mixed second row with the experienced Jonny Gray partnered by James Ryan.
British & Irish Lions, Sean O’Brien and Peter O’Mahony are joined by Josh Strauss in the back-r0w.
