Ireland Will Return In November To Soldier Field In Chicago

The IRFU have confirmed that the Irish rugby team will once again play in the United States.

2016 saw Ireland earn a historic win over New Zealand at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Two years later, Joe Schmidt’s team will take on Italy on November 3 at the same venue.

IRFU Director of Commercial & Marketing, Padraig Power, said:

“Irish Rugby is delighted to be returning to Chicago. In 2016 the Ireland team experienced tremendous support and made history in a week that also witnessed the Cubs celebrating their own piece of history on the streets of Chicago. We are looking forward to an exciting match against Italy who are a well-coached and dangerous team.”

Also taking place during ‘The Rugby Weekend’ are matches featuring the USA Men’s and Women’s Eagles taking on the Maori All Blacks and Women’s Rugby World Cup champions the Black Ferns respectively.

Ireland will tour Australia next month over three games, and oafter playing at the home of the Chicago Bears, they will play Argentina and New Zealand in the Aviva Stadium throughout the rest of November.
