Three More South African Teams To Join Guinness PRO14

Following its expansion this year, it has been reported that three more teams will join the Guinness PRO14 by the 2020/21 season.

Two new teams, the Southern Kings and Cheetahs, joined the ranks of the tournament just prior to the start of the ongoing 2017/18 season, bolstering the level of South African representation and now, according to reports made by Wales Online, three more teams are being lined up to join their ranks.

Natal Sharks are the first side who are being lined up, with the 2019/20 campaign set to introduce both them and one other unnamed South African team. The Lions and Stormers are being pegged as the next pair to enter into the mix.

This comes on the back of the announcement that all PRO14 matches will be broadcast exclusively on eir Sport in Ireland for the next three seasons, which, when coupled with this latest revelation, makes it clear that things are continuing to move in a positive direction.
