After a stint in the position that lasted just over a year, RFU Chief Executive Steve Brown has announced that he will step down from his role.
The man who replaced his predecessor Ian Ritchie in the later months of 2017 will now be vacating the position just over a year later at the end of 2018.
Brown has been working within the RFU in some capacity for the last seven or so years and played a significant role in England’s capture of the Rugby World Cup back in 2015.

At this point, it is not clear who will take up the mantle upon his departure or where exactly Brown will end up next year but in the meantime, BBC Sport reported that the director of professional rugby Nigel Melville will hold the role in the interim.
We will keep you informed as this story unfolds.
