A big win on the road for Leinster..

Rob Kearney hailed the efforts of Leinster‘s stars, as they ran out 23-14 winners at Welford Road in the Heineken Champions Cup on Saturday evening.

There were some big performances from Leo Cullen’s side, with Jamison Gibson-Park and Josh van der Flier starring on the road for the four-time European champions.

While there were a number of standout performances from the visitors, Kearney did namecheck Rob Kearney for his impressive showing as Leinster set up a mouth-watering semi-final date with Toulouse.

“I thought Robbie Henshaw had a very good game..”

Speaking after the game, Henshaw’s efforts were hailed by the former Ireland international.

“I thought Robbie Henshaw had a very good game,” Kearney explained when on commentary duty for BT Sport. ” He gave them a huge amount of going forward ball, and he defended very strongly.

“Josh van der Flier is another guy who is at the peak of his powers at the moment. It’s generated the same sort of names when you’re discussing man of the matches at the end..

“But right across the board there were some excellent performances. Nobody on that teamsheet had a poor game, and that’s when you know you are onto a real winner as a team as you move forward to the semi-final/final..”

Leinster v Leicester.

The win sets Leinster up nicely ahead of their semi-final date with Toulouse, after the French giants came through a real scare against Munster at the Aviva Stadium.

At the half-time break, Leinster raced 20-0 clear, but they were pegged back in the second-half by their Premiership opponents.

Leicester’s fightback, however, was not enough, as they could only grab 14 points against Cullen’s side who are chasing the club’s fifth European crown.
