Paddy Jackson saved Ulster’s European season.
After going 23-0 down, many thought that Ulster’s European season had come to a miserable end against Oyonnax.
Indeed, given Munster’s embarrassing result last night and Leinster’s slow start to the season, an early Champions Cup exit for Ulster would have represented another blow to Irish pride ahead of the Six Nations.
However, Ulster were not to be denied and kept their hopes of qualifying for the quarter finals alive after tries from Rory Scholes, Craig Gilroy and Stuart McCall gave Jackson the opportunity to land a winning penalty in the 78th minute.
