Stuart Barnes’ commentary has been met with ire from Mouritz Botha.

This afternoon’s European Rugby Champions Cup final has been a very physical affair, with both Saracens and Racing keeping it tight in difficult weather conditions.

Such was the volume of rain that fell during the first half, players from both teams understandably struggled to hold onto possession.

As a result, referee, Nigel Owens, has awarded a number of scrums. In turn, Stuart Barnes has been sharing his opinions on how each team should approach the set piece.

This has particularly angered former Saracens second row, Mouritz Botha, who questioned Barnes’ knowledge on twitter.

Botha was not the only person to lose patience with Barnes, with fans criticising his commentary style and switching channel.
