For this week’s Throwback Thursday, with Ronan O’Gara’s testimonial dinner being held in Cork tonight, we look back at a truly fascinating career from his debut onwards.
The Munster and Ireland legend hung up his boots at the end of last season and has gone overseas to take up a position as kicking coach for Racing Metro. Reunited once again with current Ireland flyhalf and former Leinster player Jonathan Sexton. Despite his numerous achievements, one stands alone. His drop goal in the 2009 Six Nations against Wales at the Millennium stadium which secured Ireland the Grand Slam. Sixty one years of waiting was over.
Thanks for the memories Rog.
Forever one of Ireland’s greatest ever players.
